Six Basic Tips For Google Adsense

Google Adsense is a quick way to earn some money, but learning the Google Adsense secret can mean earning even more. Google Adsense is an advertising program that pays you to display ads on your site, using a pay-per-click program. The host site can actually choose between text or image ads. Google will send a check when your account reaches $100, but be aware that this can take some time if you're just starting out. You may, however, be paid more quickly than you thought, depending on how well you use the program.

If you aren't already using Google Adsense, you should start; it's an opportunity you don't want to miss. Signing up isn't hard; you simply fill out the information and click on "send". After Google receives your information, they send a confirmation email, to which you must reply before getting started.

Here are a few Google Adsense Tip ideas that can help you.

-    Start a blog about something specific, instead of just making random entries. For instance, if you wanted to sell chocolates, you would write all about chocolates. You wouldn't stray over to politics or horses, unless they had a connection. This can also help you to keep your traffic.

-    Optimize the words you use. I learned that if you bold certain keywords, the Google ads that relate to them will pop up. This can help you with your click-through rate.

-    Make sure your site can be easily navigated. If a clicker can't find his or her way through your site, they probably won't be coming back.

-    Learn where you should place your ads for more optimal click-through exposure.

-    Always keep your site current; this helps in keeping your customers coming back to see what is new, and this in turn helps your click-through rate.

-    Use the most popular keywords. Advertisers pay more to put their ads on sites that contain popular keywords, as these sites will be visited most often. This will bring in more traffic to your site, resulting in higher click pay rates. There are software programs that you can use to find the most currently popular keywords.

Google actually has a blog that tells about their Google Adsense Tip for the day and any Google news. There are also forums by Google and their affiliates where others will help you to uncover the Google Adsense secret to success. Whether you want to make $5 a week, or $500, Google can be the way to go. Learn the Google Adsense secret and start earning hundreds of dollars a week instead of just a few pennies.

Nine Features of an Advertising Flop

Another title for this article can be "How to write an ad that will be immediately thrown into a waste paper basket?". But it is too long. In their business advertisers have to follow some rules to enhance the process of customer's perception of the presented information. However, they are very often overlooked. It is really very annoying. So I suggest turning everything upside down and to make a flop of your ad take advantage of this "wrong" advice: The first wrong advice. Open your ad with the words "If you want …" The client will hesitate whether he really needs your service or goods. As a rule, he comes to conclusion that he will buy it later, but not now.

The second wrong advice. There should be a lot of cheerful and spicy remarks about the client's flaws. Start with describing them "Are you going bald?" The third wrong advice: From the very first phrase, let your client understand that your product is the most unique and universal thing. For example, "Our thesis writing service solves all your problems". The fourth wrong advice. If you are new in the business, there is nothing better than the headline "Company" so and so "presents". The thought that there is a person who does not know the name of your wonderful firm should never occur to you. The fifth wrong advice. There are so many various prints! It is a crime not to use them. The best variant is to write every word in a different print. Give preference to decorative types, especially it concerns your contact information. The client will spend several pleasant minutes guessing if it is 3 or 9, b or d. To bring your clients complete satisfaction use the smallest type for writing your address and phone number. You don't want your clients to find where your office is.

The sixth wrong advice. When we are reading the text, we are saying it to ourselves. That is why the larger the print - the more emotional and appealing our ad is. Make your print larger with every new phrase; make the main parts in bold and the more italicised parts – the more impressive your ad looks. The seventh wrong advice. Preach at your customer: Of course you don't know that… or "You have no idea that…" Let him understand that God deigned to concede him. The eighth wrong advice. Your business is the most important thing I the world and you won't deal with those who don't think so. You don't need their money. That is why don't take time to explain something. Use many special terms and learned words. Let the client suffer from inferiority complex. Don't take pains to explain how these goods can help him. He must think about it himself. If he does not know, he must find out it for himself. Any way he has nothing else to occupy himself with. The ninth wrong advice. Don't divide your text into paragraphs. Your text is as precious as a computer science thesis you defended years ago and the reader must peruse every word. Your text should contain as many subordinate clauses as possible. I even would not write the tenth tip as if you follow these ten ones your sales rates will remain just the same. What can be better?

A Newbie's Guide to Setting Up Your Website...

If you want to start your own website but aren't sure how to go about it, this article will teach you the 5 necessary steps to get your website up and running. Having your own website is THE key element to your online success and the ability and knowledge to customize it will help you become successful in your online endeavors.

As a newbie on the web you probably don't have a lot of money to get your first site up and running. The good news is that web services today are lower than ever and you can get a site set up and running for about $50. The monthly cost for web hosting is around $6; add in a yearly domain fee of about $10 and you're ready to roll. Is that cheap enough for you??

Let's get started...

Step #1: Brainstorm ideas and put them in writing.

Outline your websites structure. Don't worry about what your site will look like yet, just get the basic structure down and the overall layout. What do you want in your website? At the minimum, you'll need a main or home page, a product description page, an "About Me" page and most of all an order page.

Once your outline is complete, you'll need to figure out a way to get that information into your computer. There are lots of resources to help with this step.

"HTML" (Hyper Text Markup Language) is the programming language used for your website. You can hire a web programmer to program your site, but that can be very expensive. You can go buy a book like "HTML for Dummies", which will teach you how to code your website, but that is a difficult and time consuming task and we want to do things the EASY way. The EASY way is to use a program like MS Frontpage, which is included for FREE nowadays on many new computer systems. Frontpage is a text based system that allows you to type your webpage in plain English and then have it converted to HTML for viewing on the web. With a few hours of practice you can have your website coded and ready to upload.

Step #2: Use a professional website template.

If you utilize a pre-designed template you can have a professional looking website in a matter of minutes. Templates provide the online graphics and overall look and style of your website. A professional pre-designed template can be purchased for under $40 and can save you many hours or even days of design time. If that price is too high there are also many professionally designed FREE web templates available, although they are very basic in style and may not be suitable for your website. Even if you have a small budget, purchasing a professional template is an efficient way to begin.

Step #3: Purchase and register a domain name.

Your ideas are ready and you have adapted them to your professional template, so now it's time to purchase a domain name for your website. Registering a domain name allows web surfers to view your website by entering (www.yournamehere.com)

You'll want a catchy domain name that is easy to remember and tells a little bit about your business (ex. LowCostAutoInsurance.com). You'll need to choose a name registrar such as GoDaddy.com to register your name and if you are having trouble finding a name they even have a domain name suggestion tool that will help. You can register your domain name for less than $10 a year and once it's registered, that name is yours for as long as you pay the annual renewal fee.

Step #4. Choose a web host.

Your site is ready, your domain name is registered and you're ready to go, Now What...

You need to hire a company to host your website. There are hundreds, if not thousands of web hosts available and your job is to sort through them and choose the right company. Since your web host is your 24 hour connection to the web, you'll need to make sure they are very reliable. If your web host has technical difficulties, your website will be invisible to all your customers and you will not be successful. Monthly hosting fees can range from FREE to hundreds of dollars depending on the services you choose. Most beginner websites can be hosted for under $10/month by a quality web host.

Step #5: Upload your website.

Now that you have chosen a web host you need to transfer your new webpage's from your computer to the computer at your web host so they are visible on the internet. While this may seem like a confusing and technical process, it really is quite simple. One of the easiest transfer processes is to upload your site using "FTP" (File Transfer Protocols). One of the easiest "FTP" programs is CuteFTP, which allows you to drag and drop files from your computer and place them in your web directory at your web host. Take a few minutes to familiarize yourself with your "FTP" program because as a webmaster you will be utilizing it quite frequently.

That's it. Your site is now up and live on the web. While the process may seem technical and difficult you'll find that with practice this will become an easy and rewarding experience. Practice with your new tools and you'll be an expert webmaster in no time

Choosing A Good Domain Name

With over 50 million registered domain names, it's tough to find a good done that's still available. Unfortunately the domain name industry is full of opportunistic "traders" who buy and sell domain names without any intention of even using it themselves. Because of this, the majority of the registered domain names don't even have a website to go with it!

This can be quite frustrating as you seek out a domain name for yourself to build a website for. But at the end of the day in a first-come first-served world, we must try and find another way to find that great domain name.

There are several tools that can be very handy when it comes to looking for a domain name. I discuss these tools in another article. Here we will discuss what makes a good domain name.

To brand or not to brand?

Brading is a key element in traditional "offline" marketing. Having a unique, catchy name does wonders for any business. However when it comes to an online presence, you might just be better off with a domain name that is rich in keywords.

Search engines primarily work on keywords as you may know. You enter a search term or "keywords" and the search engine produces results based on their formulas and the websites they believe to be the best fit for your search.

Now, there are many Search Engine Optimisation techniques that can be used by anyone on any site. The same techniques could be applied to a lot of sites, so my question is what could possibly be the 1 thing that is unique and could separate one site from the other? Of course, domain names!

I prefer to have keywords in the domain names that I own because this is what could give me the edge over competitors. Of course it's not so important if your website is a personal one and you are not looking to make any money from it. But if you are selling something or wanting to make money off your website, I would strongly recommend using keywords in your domain names. Just to prove it, go to Google.com and search for "domain name". You will see in the results that any occurrence of the words "domain" or "name" is actually in bold. So Google is definitely looking out for your search terms and highlighting them for you.

On the other hand, branding is still a strong concept online as well. If you find that catchy name (such as....hmmm Google?) and market it well, then you could be well on your way to word-of-mouth fame in no time!

If your business name is available, register it. You can always register keyword rich domain names to draw the traffic, and redirect them to your business name domain.

Hyphens or no hyphens?

Another common topic of discussion is whether to use hyphens in your domain names. I own mixtures of both hyphenated and non-hyphenated names. There is nothing wrong with hyphens. In fact, for search engines you are helping them by separating words that could be read differently. Here is one example: mikesmithstables.com

This domain could belong to a horse trainer "Mike Smith", as a website for his racing stables, or it could also be read as "Mike Smith's Tables". So there is definitely nothing wrong with hyphenation, as it would actually help to distinguish where the words end in the above example. The only small problem you will run into is word of mouth advertising where people will have to call out the hyphens. But believe me, you want all your traffic to come from search engines because it's free and the volumes are enormous.

What about using abbreviations?

If your preferred name was something like flowerstoyou.com but it was taken, but you see flowers2you.com is available, should you take it? There are several common abbreviations or variations of certain words that are almost commonly accepted, particularly in cyberspace. Thanks also SMS messaging, we are no used to the use of "2? instead of "to", "4? instead of "for" etc. Whether you choose to use such variations in your domain name is totally up 2 u (ok I was trying to be funny..).

Don't forget however that word of mouth advertising will always require the person making the recommendation to remind people of the substitute.

Building Your First Web Site?

Before doing anything on the technical side, you need some kind of basic idea to work with. I suggest first getting some paper and a pencil. Start by sketching a layout of how you would like your web page to appear. For example, a simple title at the top, the area in which you would like any content, pictures and so on. Now its time to do some programing!

Don't let the word programing scare you. Anyone can learn and there are several sites that offer free tutorials. One such site is http://www.w3schools.com/html/default.asp. Although it is not necessary to be a top notch programer to build and operate your web site, you should learn the basics of html. I recommend that you thoroughly learn about tables. They are widely used and with them, you can create a professional looking layout (even as a beginner).

You can use any basic text editor, like notepad, to write, edit, and save your code (html). When saving your work for the first time, choose Text Document for type of file, then save with the extension htm (for example index.htm). Your home page (the first page people usually see) is normally saved as index.htm. To see how your page looks, double click on the file and it should automatically open up in your browser.

Now that you've got your web page ready to go, it's time to find a host (a place for your web page to live). Since this is your first site, I suggest you use Free Web Hosting. Some host will put advertising, such as a banner, on your site as the cost of free hosting. Others will only charge you to register your Domain Name (www.YourSite.com). Be careful not to accidentally sign up for extras such as url protection, spam control, etc. (unless you feel you need them) as they will add to your cost. These sites will have a limit on bandwidth (how much data that can be transmitted per month), email accounts, and maybe a few other things, but are still great for first timers. If later on you feel you need more, then you usually can upgrade. To find a host, just use any search engine and the keyword phrase Free Web Hosting. <

Ok! You've sketched a layout for your web page, learned some basic html, coded your web page, found your host with the most (couldn't resist), and registered your URL (www.YourSite.com). Now it's time to upload (transfer) your file (web page ) to your host. To do this you need a FTP program. FTP stands for File Transfer Protocol. When using this application, there are usually two windows. The left window shows your computer files, and the right window shows the files stored on your host. For a good tutorial and to download a freeware FTP program, FTP Commander, go to http://www.nexcess.net/hosting/support/tutorials/ftp/ftpcommindex.php.

Now you should be up and running. But don't stop there. Continue to tweak, add pages, learn to link to other pages and sites, and frequently add new content. Who knows, you could eventually learn to profit from your creation.

Do Your Potential Customers Forget About You?

Your web business probably gets product inquiries from potential customers around the globe. Inquiries come via e-mail and your web site, and you try to send information to each hot prospect as quickly as you can. You know that you can drastically increase the likelihood of making a sale by satisfying each person's need for information quickly!

But, after you've delivered that first bit of information to your prospect, do you send him any further information?

If you are like most Internet marketers, you don't.

When you don't follow that initial message with additional information later on, you let a valuable prospect slip from your grasp! This is a potential customer who may have been very interested in your products, but who lost your contact information, or was too busy to make a purchase when your first message reached him. Often, a prospect will purposely put off making a purchase, to see if you find him important enough to follow up with later. When he doesn't receive a follow up message from you, he will take his business elsewhere.

Are you losing profits due to inconsistent and ineffective follow up?
Following up with leads is more than just a process - it's an art. In order to be effective, you need to design a follow up system, and stick to it, EVERY DAY! If you don't follow up with your prospects consistently, INDIVIDUALLY, and in a timely fashion, then you might as well forget the whole follow up process.

Consistent follow up gets results!
When I first started marketing and following up with prospects, I used a follow up method that I now call the "List Technique." I had a large database containing the names and e-mail addresses of people who had specifically requested information about my products and services. These prospects had already received my first letter by the time they requested more information, so I used the company's latest news as a follow up piece. I would write follow up newsletters every now and then, and send them, in one mass mailing, to everyone who had previously requested information from me. While this probably did help me win a few additional orders, it wasn't a very good follow up method. Why isn't the "List Technique" very effective?

The List Technique isn't consistent. Proponents of the List Technique tend to only send out follow up messages when their companies have "big news".

List Technique messages don't give the potential customer any additional information about the product or service in question. He can't make a more informed buying decision after receiving a newsletter! If someone is wondering whether your company sells the best knick-knacks, what does he care that you've just moved your headquarters?

List Technique messages convey a "big list" mentality to your potential customers. When I used to write follow up messages using the List Technique, I was writing news bulletins to everyone I knew! I should have been sending a personal message to each individual who wanted to know more about my products.

What follow up method really works?
Following up with each lead individually, multiple times, but at set intervals, and with pre-written messages, will dramatically increase sales! Others who use this same technique confirm that they have all at least doubled the sales of various products! In order to set this system up, though, you need to do some planning.

First, you'll need to develop your follow up messages. If you've been marketing on the Internet for any length of time, then you should already have a first informative letter. Your second letter marks the beginning of the follow up process, and should go into more detail than the first letter. Fill this letter with details that you didn't have the space to add to the first letter. Stress the BENEFITS of your products or services!

Your next 2-3 follow up messages should be rather short. Include lists of the benefits and potential uses of your products and services. Write each letter so that your prospects can skim the contents, and still see the full force of your message.

The next couple of follow up messages should create a sense of urgency in your prospect's mind. Make a special offer, giving him a reason to order NOW instead of waiting any longer. After reading these follow up messages, your prospect should want to order immediately!

Phrase each of your final 1 or 2 follow up messages in the form of a question. Ask your prospect why he hasn't yet placed an order? Try to get him to actually respond. Ask if the price is to high, the product isn't the right color or doesn't have the right features, or if he is looking for something else entirely. (By this time, it's unlikely that this person will order from you. However, his feedback can help you modify your follow up letters or products, so that other prospects will order from you.)

The timing of your follow up letters is just as important as their content. You don't want one prospect to receive a follow up the day after he gets your initial informative letter, while another prospect waits weeks for a follow up!

Always send an initial, informative letter as soon as it is requested, and send the first follow up 24 hours afterwards. You want your hot prospects to have information quickly, so that they can make informed buying decisions!

Send the next 2-3 follow up messages between 1 and 3 days apart. Your prospect is still hot, and is probably still shopping around! Tell him about the benefits of your products and services, as opposed to your competitors'. You will make the sale!

Send the final follow up messages later on. You certainly don't want to annoy your prospect! Make sure that these last letters are at least 4 days apart.

Following up effectively seems complicated, but it doesn't have to be! So many potential customers are lost because of poor follow up - don't you want to be one of the few to get it right?

Blogs: Free Promotion For Your Online Business.

It's been a few years since blogging first emerged. But it's only recently that it's been considered as more than just a fad.

Many teenagers have resorted to blogging as an outlet for their emotions, a little online nook where they can sound off about whatever bugs them or makes them happy.

Now savvy marketers have discovered that blogging is one of the best Internet marketing methods that doesn't cost a cent.

So, what exactly is a blog? Blog is the shortened form of "web log". Basically, a blog is an online journal. A blog can be set up for no cost at all, and can be used just for the fun of it or for business purposes.

Blogging for your Internet business is a great way to boost the visibility of your products and services. Here are a few ways that your internet advertising will benefit from using a blog:

1. Keep your clients or customers abreast of changes to your website. You can announce new products and affiliate websites through your blog.

2. Publish your opinions, advice or reviews on specific products or services that are related to your business. Publishing is an easy process with blogging.

3. Include articles that will fetch back-links, and links to your website that will subsequently improve your ranking on search engines. This can be helped by putting well written articles in both your blog and your website.

4. You should also include affiliate links in your blog to earn extra income. In fact some people earn good incomes just from niche blogs with relevant affiliate links.

5. Collect responses through the ability of blogs to accept comments from your blog readers. Not only does this build your content without any effort on your part, but you can learn and improve your products and services through the feedback from your readers.

6. Connect with other bloggers. When other bloggers notice that you have something good to say in your blog, they might put you in their favorites lists - that will automatically link you to their blogs and further help your rankings and traffic.

So, how do you set up a blog? There are a few options you can use to take advantage of this fun and fairly easy way to advertise your Internet business.

You can either load blogging software, such as "wordPress", on your own domain or use a blog hosting service. Host services such as LiveJournal and Blogger.com are the most popular in this field. Those hosts provide you with easy instructions on how to put up your blog.

Once you've got your blog up and running, you can promote it through the usual methods. Some examples are blog directories, participating in relevant forums or writing and submitting articles.

Remember also that most blog software or providers have an inbuilt function to provide an RSS feed of your blog contents. So you can also submit that feed to RSS directories, and to feed servers such as FeedBurner.com

But whatever else you do, remember to add the RSS feed as content to your personalized home pages at Google, my.yahoo.com and my.msn.com It'll help get your blog spidered and listed faster by those search engines.

So now you know a bit more about the free advertising benefits of blogging, the next step is to take action - now. Happy blogging.
